Kitchen Organization Essentials – I am not a naturally organized individual. It takes a little effort on my part, but it always makes me feel better any time I work on making my hot mess of a kitchen more efficient.
This is a list of my organization essentials for my kitchen. From my spices to my eggs to my trash can, this is a list of things I can’t do without.
Let’s get started!

Kitchen Organization Essentials – Herbs and Spices
Spice Jars
One of my absolute favorite things I’ve done with organizing in my kitchen is to put my spices and herbs into these pretty jars. I know that sounds a little silly, but it really does make a difference and it is so aesthetically pleasing. It just makes me happy.
These are the spice jars I use. I love them so much and the lids seal perfectly preventing any air from getting inside the jars. No one needs stale spices. Not a single one of us.
Spice Jar Labels
These Spice Jar Labels are also something I love. The style is simple and minimal. Classic design makes kitchen organization that much better. Fact: Organization is good for your kitchen and for your brain.
These labels are, again, the exact ones I have. Don’t worry about having a hard time putting them on the jars. They are so simple to stick on and reposition if needed.
Kitchen Organization Essentials – Food
Weck Jars
Let’s talk about a Weck jar. I love them. Weck Jars are not only beautiful, but they are incredible functional and a perfect kitchen organization essential. I store everything from sauces to cut-up fruit to my bone broth in them.
Another great thing about a Weck jar is that the jars and lids do not rust. Unlike their mason-type jar counterparts, a Weck jar has a rubber gasket and a pair of stainless steel clips to hold the glass lid in place. The gasket and clips are almost indestructible, and if you do, in fact, have to replace these little parts, you can.
OXO Good Grips Containers
Another product I found and simply cannot do without is the OXO Good Grips Containers. I store flour, sugar, pasta and the kids’ goldfish in them. I even store Iggy’s dog food in them. For my bigger food organization, I will always use OXO Good Grips Containers.
These containers are just awesome. They’re airtight and keep all the things nice and fresh. They are even easy enough for a kid to use and grab their crackers and easily replace the lids.
OXO also makes a brown sugar storage container that comes with a terracotta disk that keeps the brown sugar nice and moist. Yes, I said moist. Damp just won’t do in this case.
The OXO Good Grips Containers are also dishwasher safe. Because, who wants to hand wash something. Not this girl.
Stasher Bags
In an attempt to do better about our consumption and the environment, I started collecting Stasher Bags several years ago. They are amazing. A Stasher bag is a reusable, dishwasher safe, silicone storage bag and a kitchen organization essential.
They are great for everything – kids lunchboxes, travel, and the freezer. You name it, you can use these for storage and organization. Rufus recommends these 100%!
Hold Everything Coffee and Tea Canisters
These Hold Everything Coffee and Tea Canisters are another one of those kitchen organization essentials that follow both form and function. They’re pretty enough to display, but also perfect for storing coffee beans and loose tea – or whatever you want.
These cute little jars also come with a cute little spoon. Because we love cute little things.
Other Kitchen Organization Essentials
Ceramic Egg Tray
There is something in my brain that if a kitchen organization product is visually appealing, I will be more inclined to use it. The Ceramic Egg Tray is such a product.
And, considering the price of eggs right now, let us at least make them pretty to look at it!
Clear Lazy Suzan
This Clear Lazy Susan is perfect for making kitchen organization easy. She’s got removable bins for easy customization. I love a lazy Susan for my spice cabinet, for the kids snack area, and even for my skin care and self care products. Easy access and a great aesthetic – love this so much!
Recent Kitchen Organization Essential Purchases I’m in Love With – Two-Tier Serving Stand
I just recently bought this Two-Tier Serving Stand from Target and love it so much. Instead of using it for a traditional serving stand, I use it for our fruit and veggie stand on the counter top. The simplicity of the design, and the fact that its super heavy duty, make it one of my favorite Target finds in a long time.
I keep a few heads of garlic on top, bananas on bottom, and I’ll throw in a few small jars of jam to give it a little extra visual appeal. It’s a win-win in the kitchen organization/decor category!
Pull-Out Trash Can Slider
This may seem like a bit of a weird, but a trash can in the kitchen is an organization essential. Enter: The Pull-Out Trash Can Slider. When we moved into our house, there was not a place for a trash can. The previous owners kept theirs in the utility room and that just simply would not do for me.
We installed this under our sink and I cannot imagine life without it. It’s a must if you’re looking for a better kitchen trashcan situation. Like it or not, we all need a convenient place to get rid of all the things!
