deviled eggs with bacon and jalapeรฑo
A classic deviled egg is hard to beat. They find themselves on tables of family get togethers, church functions, and any barbecue I’ve ever been to. Once they’re laid out on the table, deviled eggs quickly disappear. And, with good reason.
I’ve taken this classic handheld delight and added two of my favorite ingredients ever – bacon and jalapeรฑos. Try these beauties once and you will be sure to be the hit of the next party!
Let’s Talk about the Bacon and Jalapeรฑos
I personally love the crunch and flavor of jalapeรฑos in the yolk mixture for this deviled egg recipe. I remove the seeds to keep it a little more user friendly for people who may not be as enthusiastic about spicy food. If you’re not sure, you can leave out the peppers all together or just use them for garnish at the end. They’ll be perfect either way!
Now, for the bacon. Why not add the bacon to the yolk mixture you ask? You totally could, but it will not stay crunchy. And, for this deviled egg recipe, I am wanting a that texture.
The soft, deviled egg paired with the crispy bacon and the crunch of the jalapeรฑos is a true match made in heaven!

How to Hard Boil Eggs
To make deviled eggs, we first need to hard boil the eggs. Follow the simple steps below to get the perfect hard-boiled egg.
For deviled eggs with bacon and jalapeรฑos, we need to start with hard-boiling. Let’s delve a little more in to the hard-boiled egg process. There are several methods for doing this, but I like to do mine the old-fashioned way – on the stove top. Carefully, place your eggs into a pot and add water to cover by about an inch. This part is important – IF ANY OF THE EGGS FLOAT, DISCARD THEM. They are no bueno and you don’t want to eat them.
If none of the eggs have floated, we may continue. I’m getting hungry!
Boil the water and eggs together on medium-high heat. Once the water boils, remove the pot from the heat and cover with a lid for 10-12 minutes. Carefully, remove eggs and place them in an ice bath to prevent further cooking. This helps prevent the dreaded gray/green ring that can appear if the eggs are over-cooked.
Once cooled, peel the shell away from the eggs. Now, you’re one step closer to having the most incredible deviled eggs!
How To Make Deviled Eggs
Time needed: 30 minutes
The basics of making deviled eggs are:
- Prep the eggs.
Hard boil the eggs, let them cool in an ice bath, and remove the shells.
- Prepare the yolk mixture.
Cut the eggs in half, lengthwise. Remove the yolks and add them to a bowl. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, relish, dill, granulated garlic and onion, and pickle juice. Mix until smooth.
- Add yolk mixture to the egg white.
Spoon (or pipe if you fancy) the glorious, yellow concoction into the egg whites. Garnish with the chopped bacon and jalapeรฑos. Add a very light dusting of smoked paprika – just for a little color.
Enjoy!
