Pull Up A Chair & Let's Chat!

These baked cheeseburger sliders are the kind of easy dinner that works just as well for busy weeknights as they do for game days and parties. Juicy beef, melty cheese, soft slider rolls, and a creamy burger sauce come together in one pan for an easy crowd-pleasing meal everyone loves.

Why These Baked Cheeseburger Sliders Works

  • Easy to make: Everything bakes together in one pan with minimal prep and cleanup.
  • Juicy, cheesy burger flavor: All the classic cheeseburger flavors packed into soft, pull-apart sliders.
  • Perfect for parties or weeknights: Easy enough for dinner, but always a hit for game days and gatherings.
  • The burger sauce takes them over the top: Creamy, tangy, and perfect for dipping or drizzling.

What You’ll Need

These baked cheeseburger sliders come together with simple ingredients and an easy homemade burger sauce.

For the Cheeseburger Sliders

  • Ground beef + onion: The classic savory base for juicy cheeseburger sliders.
  • All-purpose seasoning: Adds quick burger-style flavor without extra fuss.
  • Cheese: Cheddar and Monterey Jack melt into the ultimate cheesy slider situation.
  • Slider rolls or Hawaiian rolls: Soft, buttery rolls that bake up perfectly golden.
  • Butter + Worcestershire sauce: Brushed over the tops for rich flavor and golden color.
  • Sesame seeds: That classic cheeseburger finish.

For the Burger Sauce

  • Ketchup + mayonnaise: The creamy, tangy base.
  • Whole grain mustard + sweet chili sauce: Adds tang, sweetness, and a little extra flavor.
  • Tamari (or soy sauce) + dill pickle relish: Salty, savory, and exactly what makes burger sauce so addictive.

How To Make Baked Cheeseburger Sliders

These baked cheeseburger sliders come together quickly in one pan with minimal prep.

  1. Cook the beef filling: Brown the ground beef and onion, then stir in the seasoning.
  2. Assemble the sliders: Layer the bottom half of the rolls with the beef and cheese, then place the tops on the sliders.
  3. Brush the tops: Mix the melted butter and Worcestershire sauce, then brush over the rolls and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Bake until hot and melty: Bake until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  5. Serve warm: Slice apart and serve with the creamy burger sauce for dipping.

Swaps & Variations

These baked cheeseburger sliders are easy to customize with a few simple swaps.

  • Switch up the cheese: Cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or Swiss all melt well here.
  • Use different rolls: Hawaiian rolls, brioche slider buns, or potato rolls all work beautifully.
  • Add bacon: Stir cooked chopped bacon into the beef mixture for easy bacon cheeseburger sliders.
  • Make them spicy: Add jalapeños or a little hot sauce to the burger sauce for extra heat.

Tips For The Best Baked Cheeseburger Sliders

These simple tips help keep baked cheeseburger sliders juicy, cheesy, and perfectly golden.

  • Drain the beef well: Removing excess grease helps keep the sliders from getting soggy.
  • Bake uncovered: This helps the tops turn golden and lightly crisp.
  • Use plenty of cheese: The melted cheese helps hold everything together and adds classic cheeseburger flavor.
  • Brush the tops with butter: The butter mixture adds flavor and helps the sesame seeds stick.
  • Serve warm: These sliders are best fresh from the oven while the cheese is hot and melty.

Make Ahead Instructions

These baked cheeseburger sliders can be prepped early for parties, game days, and easy entertaining.

  • Assemble ahead of time: Build the sliders completely, cover tightly, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Bake from cold if needed: Add a few extra minutes to the baking time if the sliders are going straight from the refrigerator to the oven.
  • Add the butter topping before baking: Brush the tops with the butter mixture right before baking for the best flavor and color.
  • Serve the sauce on the side: Adding the burger sauce just before serving helps keep the sliders from getting soggy.

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • large skillet
  • chef's knife
  • cutting board

Ingredients

Burger Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup dill pickle relish or sweet if you prefer
  • 2 tablespoon whole grain or stone ground mustard
  • 2 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • kosher salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste

The Cheeseburger Sliders

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1-2 tablespoon all-purpose seasoning
  • ½ med onion, diced
  • 1 dozen slider buns of choice
  • 1 pkg sliced cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz Monterrey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

The Burger Sauce

  • Mix all the burger sauce ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

The Cheeseburger Sliders

  • Brown the ground beef along with the onion and your favorite all-purpose seasoning.
  • Grab a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Lay out the bottom halves of your chosen slider buns and add one layer of the sliced cheddar cheese. Next, spread the ground beef/onion mixture onto an even layer on top of the sliced cheese.
  • Top the ground beef layer with the shredded Monterrey Jack cheese and add the bun tops.
  • Mix the melted butter and Worcestershire sauce together and brush on the slider tops. Sprinkle the tops with the sesame seeds.
  • Bake in a preheated 400° oven for about 15-20 minutes or the cheese is nice and melty and ooey-gooey!
  • Let cool slightly, pull apart, dip into that glorious burger sauce, and enjoy!

Notes

I serve my burger sauce on the side at the end for dipping because my kids are very picky about sauces. You can do that or spread some in the middle of the burgers before baking. They'll be great either way!

Build The Ultimate Burger Night

These baked cheeseburger sliders pair perfectly with easy comfort-food sides and game day favorites.

  • Keep it classic: Serve the sliders with fries, potato wedges, tater tots, or kettle chips.
  • Add a fresh side: A potato salad, coleslaw, pasta salad, or veggie tray balances the rich, cheesy sliders beautifully.
  • Build a burger bar: Set out pickles, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and extra burger sauce so everyone can customize their sliders.
  • Make it game-day ready: Pair the sliders with buffalo chicken dip, queso, wings, or other easy party appetizers for the ultimate spread.

Storage & Reheating

Here’s how to store these Cheeseburger Sliders so they stay juicy, cheesy, and delicious the next day.

  • Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes or until the cheese is melty and the buns are warmed through.
  • Microwave in small bursts if you’re in a rush, but note the buns won’t stay as crisp.
  • Store the burger sauce separately so the sliders don’t get soggy.
  • Freezing isn’t ideal — the cheese and buns lose their texture, so stick to fresh or refrigerated leftovers.

You Asked, I Answered

What kind of buns work best for baked cheeseburger sliders?

Hawaiian rolls, brioche slider buns, potato rolls, and classic dinner rolls all work well. Soft rolls that hold together easily are best for baked sliders.

How do you keep cheeseburger sliders from getting soggy?

Lean ground beef like 90/10 or 93/7 works best because it gives you plenty of flavor without excess grease.

What’s the best ground beef for cheeseburger sliders?

Usually 2–3 sliders per person. On a good day my crew can crush more, so plan accordingly. Go big or go home, my friend.

How many cheeseburger sliders should I plan per person?

Plan on about 2–3 sliders per person depending on the sides and how hungry your crowd is.
